Teenager killed over senior-junior feud in Jatrabari

A teenager was killed over senior-junior feud at Kutubkhali in Jatrabari of the capital on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Jamal, 18.
Some other teens and youths were injured in the incident. Of them, wounded Mohammad Amir in critical condition is now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Azharul Islam, inspector (investigation) of Jatrabari Police Station, told the Daily Sun that two groups of teenagers were locked in a clash over senior and junior status in front of Kutubkhali High School around 8:30pm.
During the clash, Jamal was stabbed with a switch-gear-knife, leaving him in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the DMCH where he was declared dead.
The officer said they detained a number of youths and teenagers, but all were not involved in the incident.
After scrutiny, the innocent would be released, said.
On the case, the police officer said that a case was underway to be filed on behalf of one group while none of another group came to the police station to lodge a case.
Asadullah , a friend of the deceased Jamal, said that they (a number of teens) were gossiping in front of the high school.
Then, one Sifat called Jamal beside and was locked in an argument.
At one of argument, Sifat, Fardin, Shimul, Arafat, Emon and some others swooped on Jamal and stabbed him with knives, he said.
