Cold-hit poor people in the Keraniganj area were all smiles on Sunday after receiving blankets from the Bashundhara Group amid the chilling winter season.
The industrial conglomerate distributed 4,000 blankets among the cold-hit people in Konda union of South Keraniganj.

Keraniganj Upazila Parishad Chairman Shahin Ahmed was the chief guest at the blanket distribution programme in Bashundhara Riverview area.
Bashundhara Group Executive Director AKM Nazmul Haque was also present at the event as the special guest.

Addressing the programme, Upazila Parishad Chairman Shahin Ahmed applauded the role of Bashundhara Group for standing beside the helpless during any disaster.

“Along with the government, Bashundhara Group also supports the helpless people. Bashundhara Group’s humanitarian activities during the pandemic are worth remembering,” he said, adding that the Bashundhara Group built hospitals and provided medical services to the common people during the covid period.

“Keraniganj has come under the smart surveillance of the police thanks to the Bashundhara Group’s funding of Tk10 crore for closed-circuit camera project,” he further said.
“We found the Bashundhara Group in various development activities of Keraniganj and like every year, they distributed blankets among the poor in Keraniganj this year as well.,” said the UP chairman.

Bashundhara Group Engineer Abdul Quader was also present at the blanket distribution ceremony among other local dignitaries. Thousands of men and women of different ages came from different places of Keraniganj to take blankets at the programme.
