Pakistan's former cricket team captain Shoaib Malik today announced that he has married a second time to the country's popular actor Sana Javed in Karachi after getting divorced from former Indian tennis star Sania Mirza.  

Shoaib and Sania, who had previously resided in Dubai, got married in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad, the Indian tennis player's home town.

In April 2010, Shoaib and Sania, who had previously resided in Dubai, tied the knot in Hyderabad, the Indian player's hometown. Sania retired from tennis last year.

Shoaib, who has a five-year-old son with Sania, posted a picture on a social media platform with his new wife, with the words "And We created you in pairs". Sania lives with the son.

Former Pakistani captain Shoaib Malik said on Saturday that, following his divorce with Sania Mirza, he wed prominent actor Sana Javed in Karachi.

A family source told PTI that "it was a 'khula'" marriage, which refers to the right of a Muslim woman to unilaterally divorce her husband.

This is Shoaib's third marriage. Since 2022, rumours had repeatedly done the rounds that Shoaib and Sania's differences caused them to split. They have hardly been spotted together in the last few years. Shoaib also unfollowed Sania on Instagram a few days ago.
