Gas supply to Chattogram resumed partially on Friday night, after remaining suspended for around 24 hours following a technical glitch at an LNG terminal in Moheshkhali of Cox’s Bazar.

City dwellers started getting the supply with low pressure around 10:10pm. But, CNG-refuelling stations have been kept shut till filing of the report around 10:45am on Saturday.

Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) General Manager (Operations) Aminur Rahman told the Daily Sun that the glitch at the LNG terminal has been fixed.

“The refuelling stations, and other commercial and industrial establishments will get the supply gradually as it takes time to generate the full pressure,” he said, expecting to get the situation normal by 2pm today.

The technical glitch at the terminal caused a sudden suspension of gas supply, stalling household chores, commercial activities, and industrial productions in Chattogram.

Non-availability of gas since early Friday put the city residents, gas-based business firms and industries in great trouble.
