Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali has said the economy is facing various challenges and all the crises cannot be resolved overnight.

“Time should be given to curb the prices of commodities during Ramadan,” he told reporters at the conference room of the ministry at the secretariat on Sunday, the first working day as the finance minister after taking the oath.

“The finance ministry alone cannot curb the commodity prices. We will work in coordination with the commerce ministry,” he said.

“Besides, we will deal with the issues of money laundering and the depreciation of Taka,” Mahmood added.
