BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for over five months (156 days), is set to return to her home in Gulshan on Thursday afternoon.

The BNP chairperson would leave the hospital at 4pm, Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, Khaleda’s personal physician and BNP vice chairman, confirmed.

Khaleda was admitted to Evercare Hospital when she fell sick on August 9. The BNP chief has been undergoing treatment there since then for various health complications.

The 78-year-old former prime minister has long been suffering from various ailments, including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes, and kidney, lung, heart and eye issues.
