RAB arrested 120 militants last year

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 120 members of different militant outfits last year.
The elite force recovered a huge quantity of arms, bullets and explosives from the arrestees, according to the RAB’s Legal and Media Wing.
During the time, nine militants surrendered to the force and returned to normal life.
Of the arrested militants, the elite force arrested the chief of military section and sura member of Jama’atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya Masukur Rahman alais Ranbir alias Masud and IED abd bomb expert Abul Bashar alias Mridha Alam from Kutupalong in Cox’s Bazar on January 23.
Training Commander of the organisation Didar Hossain and eight others were arrested from Bandarban on March 12.
On July 23, Amir of the outfit Anisur Rahman Mahmud and two others were held from Lauhaganj in Munshiganj.
Five members, including a leader of recruitment section of Ansar Al Islam, were captured from Bagerhat on August 30.
On September 14, four, including Muntasir Billah, another leader of the recruitment section at Ansar Al Islam, were held from Thakurgaon.
Six, including the chief of Dhaka recruitment section Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury, were arrested from Uttara, Banani, Banasree and Jatrabari in the capital on September 25.
On October 25 and December 10, nine militants of Ansar Al Islam were held from Jhenaidah and Narayanganj respectively.
However, on January 2, nine militants surrendered to the force and returned to normal life. With the nine, a total of 31 militants returned to normal life by surrendering to the RAB.
The force since its founding arrested 2,999 members of different radical outfits.
