Bangladesh Army’s 55th Infantry Division on Tuesday distributed winter clothes among 2,700 destitute people and held free medical camps in Khulna, Gopalganj, and Narail.

As per the directive of Army Chief General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed, the clothes were distributed with the organisation of medical camps, said Rashidul Alam Khan, assistant director at Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Infantry Division and Area Commander of Jashore Major General Md Mahbubur Rashid distributed the clothes among the destitute at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium. A total of 1,000 people were given warm clothes, said the assistant director.

The division distributed the clothes among 800 people at Tungipara in Gopalganj, while 900 people were given the clothes in Narail.

Medicine was also given free of charge to the people undergoing treatment in the medical camps.
