Rajia Sultana, the mother-in-law of Daily Sun Editor Rezaul Karim Lotus, passed away on Sunday night while undergoing treatment at a city hospital. She was 78.

She breathed her last at 9:15pm on the day at Everecare Hospital Dhaka after suffering from various old age-related complications, confirmed her family members.

She left behind her husband retired senior Bangladesh Bank official Hafizur Rahman, two daughters, a son, five grandchildren and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.

Born in Pirojpur’s Swarupkathi to a noble Muslim family, Rajia Sultana was a resident of the Bashundhara Residential Area.

She will be laid to eternal rest at Banani Graveyard on Monday following her namaz-e-janaza.
