Bangladesh Tariqat Federation Chairman Syed Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari of Chattogram-2 (Fatikchari) constituency has announced his withdrawal from the election race supporting the candidate of ruling Awami League.

Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari made the announcement on Thursday morning.

He was also a member of the 10th and 11th National Parliaments from this seat.

Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari’s son and party's Vice Chairman Syed Taibul Bashar Maizbhandari confirmed the withdrawal of his father’s candidacy.

“Even though the chairman has stepped aside, Tariqat Federation is continuing election activities in 41 other constituencies across the country,” he said.
