Police arrested a youth along with a foreign-made pistol and drugs in Golakandail Notun Bazar area of Narayanganj on Tuesday.

The arrestee, Mahfuz, is a supporter of Golam Dastagir Gazi, the boat symbol candidate for the Narayanganj-1 constituency.

Police said that Mahfuz’s elder brother Masum is a murder accused. A person named Sunny, son of Millat, was murdered in Golakandail Notun Bazar area just 7-8 months ago. Masum is one of the main accused in the Sunny murder case.

Mahfuz’s father name is Misir Ali. Mahfuz has been accused of several crimes in Notun Bazar area including extortion. The entire family of Mahfuz is allegedly involved in various crimes, police added.
