The chief prison guard of Kashimpur High Security Central Jail was held with 300 yaba tablets while entering the jail on Monday noon.

Some on-duty prison guards at the gate held Saiful Islam, 59, and later handed him over to Konabari police.

Lutfar Rahman, jailer of the central jail, confirmed it to the Daily Sun.

Sources in the jail said that Saiful was entering the jail at about 12:00pm.

At that time, the prison guards who were on duty at the gate checked him and found the yaba pills in the pockets of his uniform.

Subrata Kumar Bala, senior jail super of the jail, said that they would take departmental action against him.

The officer-in-charge (OC) of Konabari Police Station said that a case was underway against the arrestee.

Earlier on September 2, a garbage-carrying truck of Gazipur City Corporation was searched while it was being driven into the jail.

Then, some prison guards found some ganza (hemp) and locally made sharp weapons in it and held two men of the truck.
