Moderate to thick fog is likely to occur over the country from midnight to Saturday morning, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a forecast on Friday.

"Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country,” it said.

The ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over the south Bay.

Night and day temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 31.2 degrees Celsius in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar, while the minimum temperature on Friday was recorded at 10.6 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga.

The sun sets at 5:13pm on Friday and rises at 6:34am on Saturday in the capital.
