The 39-year old Spaniard Javier Cabrera remains as the head coach of the National Football Team and the National U-23 Football Team as Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) extended his contract until December 2024.

The decision was announced in a press release signed by BFF vice-president and BFF National Football Teams Committee chairman Kazi Nabil Ahmed on Wednesday.  

The national side won six, drew six and lost nine out of 21 matches under the Spaniard who has been coaching here since January 2022. 

A source claims, the committee also agreed to increase Cabrera’s salary evaluating his recent performance in SAFF Championship 2023, FIFA-AFC Joint qualifiers round one and two and international friendlies.
