Adil, Mehedi elected BIP president, gen secy

The Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP) has got a new executive committee with Adil Mohammed Khan as president and Shaikh Muhammad Mehedi Ahsan as its general secretary.

The election of the 16th Executive Committee was held at its office at Banglamotor in the capital on Friday.

Other office bearers are – Vice-President-1 Syed Shahriar Amin, Vice-President-2 Shofiqur Rahman, Joint General Secretary Tamzidul Islam, and Treasurer Mohammed Mushlehuddin Hasan.

Besides, Tamanna  Binte Rahman was elected board member (professional affairs), Uswatun Mahera Khushi board member (academic affairs ), Hosne Ara board member (research and publication), Abu Naim Shohag board member (national and international liaison), and Fahim Abedin board member (membership).

BIP Chief Election Commissioner Salma A Shafi announced the results of the polls in the presence of BIP Advisory Council Convener Akter Mahmud.

Newly elected president Adil said, “The new executive committee will work for the expansion of the planning profession to tackle the challenges in the days to come. It will also work for reaching the observation of the planners in all planning issues to the highest policymakers of the government.”
