Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Awami League and its different front organisations organized a peace rally in Narayanganj protesting the 48-hour nationwide hartal enforced by the BNP and Jamaat.

Chaired by Shahjahan Bhuiyan, Chairman of Rupganj Upazila Parishad, Rafiqul Islam, Mayor of Kanchan Municipality; Nurul Islam Jahangir, Chairman of Daudpur Union Parishad; and other local Awami League leaders attended the event among others.

During his address at the rally, Shahjahan Bhuiyan alleged that the BNP-Jamaat alliance has been engaged in subversive activities on the streets under the guise of hartal to overthrow the government.

Their attempt will remain a mere dream; it will never materialize.

“Their attempt will remain a mere dream; it will never come true,” he said, vowing to remain active on the streets to resist BNP-Jamaat.
