Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) didn’t arrest Haque Group Chairman Adam Tamizi Haque in the raid at midnight on Thursday as Tamizi was threatening to commit suicide if he is arrested, but RAB kept him under full surveillance.

RAB said he will be arrested and handed over to the appropriate authorities as soon as he leaves his Gulshan house, said RAB-1 Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Mushtaq Ahmed.

A case was filed against him under the Digital Security Act with Dakshinkhan Police Station in Uttara in the capital on Wednesday.

A raid was conducted on Thursday midnight to arrest Tamizi from his Gulshan residence but RAB was forced to return without completing the arrest as he threatened to commit suicide if he was arrested.

According to the case statement, Adam Tamizi Haque made various objectionable, defamatory and provocative statements against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and also threatened to kill the Prime Minister on his Facebook page several times.
