Noted actor Jaya Ahsan starrer Iranian film ‘Fereshte’ will be screened at the 54th Goa International Film Festival in India.
The acclaimed Iranian director Morteza Atashzamzam-directed project has been selected for the feature film category at the festival.
About the film, Jaya Ahsan said, “Fereshte has been made with a mixture of human values and feelings. The filmmaker has shown the beauty of Bangladesh’s social culture and customs wonderfully with the film. I have played the role of a struggling and courageous character among the underprivileged people of our country. It was very challenging to portray my character in the movie. The entire team including the director speaks the language of their country. But I believe films have no language. Because of that, we all connected with the team.”
Besides Jaya Ahsan, several other Bangladeshi artistes, including Reekita Nondine Shimu, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Shahed Ali, Shaheen Mridha and child artiste Sathi will be seen acting in the film.
The movie is written by Mumit Al-Rashid of Bangladesh with director Morteza Atashzamzam. The official poster of the movie has already been released. The movie will be released in both Bangladesh and Iran.
Recognised as one of the major film festivals in the Asian continent, this festival is also known as the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The film festival is held in the Indian coastal city of Goa in late November every year.
