As many as 437 people were killed and 681 others injured in 429 road accidents across the country in October, according to the Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity.

Among the casualties, 144 were killed in 131 motorbike accidents, which account for 30.53% of total accidents, the passengers’ welfare platform said in a report on Friday.

Last month, Dhaka division recorded the highest number of road accidents with 134 incidents resulting in 141 fatalities, while Barishal division logged the lowest figure of accidents (24), it said.
