The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in Jordan on Saturday for discussions with representatives of Arab nations who are expected to call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

He'll meet King Abdullah before talks with foreign ministers from Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE, as well as a representative of the Palestinian Authority.

There's been mounting concern about the large numbers of civilian casualties.

On Friday Blinken call for humanitarian pauses but it rebuffed by Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu, who said there would be no break in its attacks on Gaza until all hostages there were freed, reports BBS.
