Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has dedicated his Seoul Smart City Prize-2023 to people residing in the capital.

He made the announcement in the 22nd board meeting of the corporation at Nagar Bhaban on Monday.

According to a press release sent by DSCC, Taposh won the prize in leadership category for improving the life standards of people by using technology and data at the World Cities Mayors Forum jointly organized by Smart Sustainable Cities Organisation and Seoul Metropolitan Government.

A total of 50 mayors from 30 cities attended the programme held at Seoul in South Korea from 24-26 September this year.  In the forum he was handed over a crest shaped 1 and 0 as those binary digits represent the embodiment of technologies used for the well being of city dwellers.

DSCC Mayor Taposh said, “We are marching forward to build a modern, vibrant and liable city overcoming different kinds of obstacles with the support of Dhaka dwellers. So, I want to dedicate my prize to city dwellers. The prize was awarded to me, but I think they deserve this prize.”
