President Mohammed Shahabuddin departed from Dhaka to seek medical treatment in Singapore on Monday.
The Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-584, carrying him, took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:50 am.
Joynal Abedin, the President's Press Secretary, confirmed the matter to media this morning.
A notable delegation bid farewell to the President at the airport, including Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, the Cabinet Secretary, the Chiefs of the three services, the Foreign Secretary, the Inspector General of Police, Consul of Singapore to Bangladesh Sheela Pillai, along with senior civil and military officials.
The President is anticipated to return to his homeland on October 30, following his medical treatment at Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
