BNP will observe token hunger strike in all metropolitan cities and districts across the country including the capital on Saturday demanding immediate release of party’s Chairperson Khaleda Zia and permission for her better treatment abroad.

In the capital, Dhaka north and south city units will jointly organize the token hunger strike in front of the party central office in Nayapaltan at 11:00am. The three hours-long hunger strike will last till 2:00pm.

BNP’s senior leaders including its secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will attend the programme.

Meanwhile, the 12-party alliance will observe token hunger strike in front of Bijoynagar Water Tank in Purana Paltan area at 10:00am.

Jatiyatabadi Shamaman Jote will observe the same programme in front of Purana Paltan’s Al Raji Complex and Gana Forum and People’s Party of Bangladesh in front of Notre Dame College in Motijheel.

BNP will hold youth rally in Dhaka on Monday and a public rally in the city on October 18.
