Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Safwan Sobhan has felicitated ATM Tariquzzaman, newly-elected Managing Director (MD) of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

On behalf of Safwan Sobhan, Bashundhara Paper Mills Company Secretary M Mazedul Islam handed over a bouquet to DSE MD at the latter's office in the capital on Monday.

During the call on, both sides discussed bilateral issues. Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Safwan Sobhan expressed optimism that the DSE will reach new heights with new leadership.

ATM Tariquzzaman, a former executive director of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), has experience in teaching at the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.

Dr Tariq obtained his M.Com (Accounting) from University of Dhaka and MBA in Financial Management from South Eastern University (London Campus, UK), M.Com (Financial Planning), and MPA (Master of Professional Accounting) from Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. He completed his PhD in Accounting and Finance from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
