Better relationship vital for quality services
Closer link between tenderers,procuring entities stressed

Better relationship and professional understanding between tenderers and government procuring entities is vital for implementing development projects and ensuring quality of goods, works and services. Improvement in bilateral relationship requires greater communications and face-to-face dialogue between tenderers and government procuring entities at a regular interval.
Speakers at a meeting of Kroi Sanglap Forum (Government-Tenderers Forum) arranged by Central Procurement Technical Unit of Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division under the Ministry of Planning made such observations at LGED auditorium in Sirajganj on Saturday.
Secretary of IME Division Md Shahid Ullah Khandaker, Director General of CPTU Faruque Hossain, Lead Procurement Specialist of World Bank Bangladesh Dr Zafrul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Sirajganj Md Billal Hossain, CEO of Bangladesh Centre for Communication Programmes (BCCP) Mohammad Shahjahan and Procurement Consultant of WB ANM Mustafizur Rahman spoke at the programme,.
The programme, facilitated by BCCP, was organised under the auspices of the Public Procurement Reform Project-II supported by WB.
Representatives of four target agencies under the project -- Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Roads and Highways Department (RHD), Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) and Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) -- and other government procuring entities in Sirajganj numbering 30 were present on the occasion. About 30 tenderers attended the meeting. They interacted with each other about public procurement issues.
