The Election Commission (EC) announced by-polls of the vacant constituencies of Brahmanbaria-2 and Lakshmipur-3 will be held on November 5.

Earlier on Monday, the EC Secretariat declared Brahmanbaria-2 and Lakshmipur-3 constituencies vacant due to death of two Members of Parliament (MPs).

On September 30, MP Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan, who was elected as independent candidate in Brahmanbaria-2 constituency, died at a hospital in the capital. On the same day, MP AKM Shahjahan Kamal, elected from Bangladesh Awami League in the Lakshmipur-3 constituency, died.
