BNP road March in Barishal, common passenger suffered

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) organised a road march in Barishal on Saturday as the part of their ongoing one point demand.

The member of BNP permanent committee Nazrul Islam Khan, Selima Rahman and Mojibur Rahman Saroar lead the road march.

The road march started from Barishal Sadar raod in the morning of the day and the road march reached at Beutia of Kowkhali in Pirojpur from where the road march would return to Barishal.

The fifty five kilometers on Khulna Barishal highway has been over loaded with different types of vehicles of the road march. Road meeting has been arranged at different spots of road. The local and central leaders addressed the meeting.

Thousnads of BNP activists from different districts, Upazila, unions and Barishal city units participated the road march on different types of vehicles including cars, pickup Van, motorbikes.

The leaders and activists have celebrated the road march wearing different batches, decorating their vehicles and holding national and party flags. They also arranged loud speakers with their vehicles for attracting and inspiring the participants.

Hundreds of vehicles got stuck at Jhalakathi sadar Petrol Pump intersection caused the long time road block.

For whimsical movement of the vehicles of the road march made the road block which brought untold suffering for the passengers on the road.

Passengers and vehicles on the road had to wait there hours after hours for the road meeting keeping standing the vehicles on the road.

“I wanted to go to Khulna and board a khulna bound bus. My bus stuck at the Jhalakathi petrol Pump intersection for the road march.” said Mahina Alter adding that she was the urgency of arriving in Khulna.

Patient carrying ambulances were the worst victim of it as they had to waited long hours at the spot.

“I have come carrying  a patient from Mathbaria of Pirojpur and had to stop at the spot. The patient was needed to take immediately at Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal.” Said Khokon, an ambulance driver.

The reporter found twelve patient carrying ambulances were stuck at the intersection on both sides.

All parties are trying to go to power but none think of the suffering of common people, said Shahin Khan, a passenger coming from Barishal.
