At the ARCASIA Awards for Architecture-2023, Architect Bayejid Mahbub Khondker, the principal architect of Nakshabid Architects won two Gold Medals.
He was awarded in the 20th Congress of Architects Regional Council Asia held on Monday (Sept 18), at Boracay Newcoast convention Centre in the Philippines.
He also won the gold medal for Industrial Building category for the same project. Architect Mostafa Ameen, Architect Iqbal Habib and Architect Ishtiaque Zahir Titas of Bangladesh also awarded as honorable mention in different categories.
In 2022, Ar. Bayejid received UIA 2030 award from the International Union of Architects (UIA) together with the Un-Habitat for the project “Green Field Unit of Karupannya Rangpur Limited” and the 31st JK Cement Architect of the Year Awards (Foreign Countries Commendation) for Aman Mosque.
Ar. Bayejid graduated with a B.Arch. from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1996.
As a Practicing architect in Bangladesh, his designs range in various typologies and scales. His designs represent the unique local characters with the appropriateness of the forms inherent in the geographic region.
Greenfield Factory of Karupannya Rangpur Limited is located in Robertsongonj, Rangpur, Bangladesh. Design of the greenfield factory building was successful to establish a close bonding between human and nature while supporting the eco-system of the building surroundings.
