Additional Deputy Commissioner Harun-or-Rashid has been suspended.

His suspension order came a day after he was transferred to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) in Cox’s Bazar following allegations of assaulting two central leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).

The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notification to this end on Monday.

Our Correspondent adds: the notification of the ministry concerned says, “As it is necessary and expedient to refrain ADC Harun from government work, he has temporarily been suspended from the job in line with (Sarkari Chakri Ain) Public Service Act-2018’s Section 39 (1).” 

“He remains attached with Police Headquarters during his suspension time. As per the rules, he will get allowance,” says the notification.

Mentionable, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday (yesterday) withdrew Ramna zone additional deputy commissioner Harun-or-Rashid over the allegation of torturing two Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders.
