Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in a drive, arrested an alleged drug trader with 50,000 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from Gohira village under Anwara upazila of the district early today.
The arrested was identified as Md Akash, 45, son of Jafar Ahmed, hailed from Gohira village.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the RAB-7 conducted a raid in Akash's Gohira village residence and nabbed him with the contraband drugs around 5.50 am, RAB sources said.
A case was lodged with Anwara thana and the detained person was sent to jail today, the sources added.
