Sunnydale clinch boy’s title, Viqarunnisa retain women’s

Sunnydale clinched the boy’s title of the Polar Ice Cream 28th School Handball Tournament (Boys/Girls)-2023 beating St Gregory's High School and College by 26-19 goals in the final at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium here on Tuesday.

Sunnydale last bagged the title of this event in 2019 while St Gregory  were the champions of 2022 edition.

Viqarunnisa Noon School and College retained the girls’ title for the seven consecutive time beating Sunnydale by 13-11 goals in the final at the same venue on the same day.

Viqarunnisa have been champions of this event since 2014. Last year, they beat the same opponents Sunnydale.

Sunnydale’s Ahiyan adjudged the best players in the boys’ event while Viqarunnisa’s Sumaiya Akhter adjudged the best players in the girls’ event.

Narinda Govt High School ended third beating Scholastica by 24-19 goals in the boys' event while Shaheed Bir Uttam Lt. Anwar Girls’ College ended third beating the same opponents Scholastica by 18-9 goals in the girls' event.

BOA Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest after the matches.
