Popular actor Afzal Hossain was admitted to a hospital in the capital on Monday night.

The Ekushey award winning actor is currently under treatment in the CCU department at Square Hospital.

Ahsan Habib Nasim, president of Abhinaya Shilpi Sangh, said the actor was taken to the hospital after his health condition deteriorated. Later, the duty doctors admitted him to CCU as he complained of mild chest pain.

He was suffering from pneumonia for several days, he said.
