B’baria BCL leader expelled over controversial activities

Brahmanbaria: Vice-president of the district unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Habibullah Bhuiyan Biplob has been expelled for violating party discipline.
A press release signed by Brahmanbaria district Chhatra League President Rabiul Hossain Rubel and General Secretary Shahdat Hossain Shobhon was issued confirming the expulsion on Sunday.
According to the press release, Biplob was temporarily exempted from his post for his alleged involvement in some activities which went against the party’s principles and ideals.
Besides, Biplob was also asked to appear in person at the party office within the next 7 working days for answering that why a recommendation will not be placed to the central committee for his permanent expulsion.
Mentionable, Habibullah Bhuiyan Biplob is director of a local gym named BS Fitness Club.
On Wednesday evening, Biplab along with his gym's fitness trainer Mitu Akhter and Saim allegedly beat up two people including a housewife as they protested filming of an offensive video at the gym located at Mouluvipara area of the district city.
Later, police arrested the trio from the spot after getting allegation.
On that night, assistant public prosecutor (APP) of the district court Masudur Rahman (Sohag), brother-in-law of the house wife, filed a case naming four and some other unidentified men with Sadar Model Police Station.
