Feni: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police in a joint drive arrested a convict, who was sentenced to life-term imprisonment in a murder case, from Feni on Wednesday night.

The arrestee was identified as Anwar Hossain Sumon, 42, son of late Tajul Islam, hailing from Ahmmadpur village in Amirabad Union of Sonagazi Upazila of the district.

Based on secrete information, a team of RAB of Feni camp and members of Sonagazi Police Station conducted the drive in a house and arrested him, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonagazi Model Police Station (Investigation) Abul Kashem said.

Later, he was sent to jail through a court on Thursday afternoon, he said.

According to police, Sumon was absconding since filing of a case against him over murder of a man in his village in 2004. Later, a court sentenced him to life-term imprisonment.
