Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University has introduced sports quota in its undergraduate programmes from the academic year 2022-2023.

The decision was taken in central admission committee meeting held on August 3.

As per decision of the meeting, the university invited applications from admission seekers under the sports quota within August 7.

A total of 24 students applied for this quota and four appeared on the day of interviews and one was admitted after certificate verification. This information was confirmed by Registrar Dr Humayun Kabir of the university on Thursday.

For the first time, this year this quota was introduced only for BKSP certificate holders. This quota is aimed at promoting standard of sports of the university and producing quality players and skilled athletes to participate in national and international competitions, the Registrar added.
