Renowned artist SM Sultan’s birth centenary was celebrated at his home town Narail on Thursday.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Narail arranged various programmes, including art camp, discussion, screening documentary and boat race on the day.
The day-long event started at 11:00am with tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and tribute at the grave SM Sultan.
A discussion was held at the district Shilpakala Academy auditorium at 6:20pm. Cultural Ministry Secretary Khalil Ahmed graced the occasion as the chief guest with Director General of BSA Liaquat Ali Lucky in the chair.
Later, documentary film ‘Adam Surat’ directed by Tareque Masud was screened at the academy auditorium in the evening. The film is based on the life of SM Sultan from 1982 to 1989.
