DHAKA - Central 14-party alliance is going to launch a weeklong programme from Wednesday next, protesting the anti-state conspiracies of BNP.
Central 14-party alliance Spokesperson and Coordinator Amir Hossain Amu made the announcement after holding a meeting of the alliance at his Eskaton residence in the city this afternoon.
Amu, also ruling Awami League (AL) advisory council member, said it has been noticed that BNP is talking about the amendment of the constitution.
They want to introduce another trend disrupting the constitutional process, he said, adding, "We will accept any condition for free and fair elections. But, we will not allow the amendment of the constitution by disrupting the constitutional process".
Bangladesh Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon and General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha, Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) General Secretary Shirin Akhter, Bangladesh Tariqat Federation Chairman Syed Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari, Ganatantri Party General Secretary Dr Shahadat Hossain and Communist Kendro Convener Wazedul Islam, among others, were present at the meeting.
