Newly appointed Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral M Nazmul Hassan paid tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his grave at Tungipara in Gopalganj on Thursday.

Besides, Bangladesh Navy Family Welfare Association (BNFWA) President Nadia Sultana also paid tribute by placing a wreath at the grave of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

They offered fateha and took part in the special prayer seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The Chief of the Naval Staff, later, visited the home of the Father of the Nation and signed the visitors’ book.

During the visit, Regional Commander of Khulna Naval region, BNFWA Khulna Branch Chairman and senior officers were also present.

After visiting Tungipara, the Chief of Naval Staff attended a reception programme held at Khulna Naval region. Meanwhile, a well-armoured team of the Navy gave him a guard of honour at the static parade organised at BNS Titumir. Chief of Naval Staff turned-out parade and took salute.

At the end of the inspection, Chief of Naval Staff addressed the naval personnel of all levels and exchanged views with the officers working in the Khulna Naval Region.
