The European Union's Election Exploratory Mission sat in a meeting with the leaders of the Awami League (AL).

The meeting began at 12:00pm at a hotel in Banani of the capital.

Seven Awami League leaders led by AL general secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader took part in the meeting.

The other leaders of the AL who are participating in the meeting are: party’s international affairs subcommittee and former ambassador Muhammad Zamir, international affairs Secretary Dr Shammi Ahmed, Presidium member Muhammad Farooq Khan, Office Secretary Biplab Barua, Information and Research Secretary Dr Salim Mahmud, Executive Committee Members Prof Mohammad Ali Arafat and Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud.

Earlier in the day, the EU delegation held two consecutive meetings with the BNP and the Jatiya Party.
