Razzaque visits mango orchard at Nachole

Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque visited a private sector project for exportable mango production and shared views with the farmers at Nachole in Chapainawabganj district today.

Entrepreneur Rafiqul Islam established the orchard with multiple varieties of mangoes on around 300 bighas of land at Kendua village.

On the occasion, the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) organized a view-sharing meeting with the farmers and others concerned adjacent to the orchard.

Addressing the meeting as the chief guest, Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzaque urged the entrepreneurs to establish mango-based industries in the region.

People of the region, particularly the entrepreneurs, should come forward to earn foreign currencies through exporting mangoes from this area, he added.

With Agriculture Secretary Wahida Akter in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Abdul Wadud, MP, DAE Director General Badal Chandra Biswash, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Agriculture Research Council Dr Sheikh Boktiar and Director General of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute Dr Shahjahan Kabir.
