Chief of Army Staff General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed left Dhaka for Thailand on an official visit on Friday. 

During his visit, on Saturday he will attend the 42nd General Meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) held in Bangkok, Thailand as the President of the Bangladesh Olympic Association.

Mentionable that representatives of 45 National Olympic Committees from different Asian countries will participate in the meeting.

Apart from participating in the meeting, he will vote in the Executive Committee Elections of the Olympic Council of Asia (2023-2027) and exchange views on various issues of mutual sports development by participating in bilateral meetings with guests from different countries.

After the visit, the army chief is expected to arrive in Bangladesh on July 11.
