Seven years after Sholakia militant attack happened in Kishoreganj, 19 accused were killed in gunfights and five are on trial.

On July 7, 2016, militants attacked on a checkpoint located in front of Mufti Mohammad Ali Jame Mosjid before Eid ul-Fitr jamaat and killed two constable, a housewife and a militant on the spot.

In addition, 16 more people including militants, police and worshipers were injured in the incident.

Hearing of the case is almost in final stage.

After successfully investigation, the charge-sheet of the case has been submitted to the court, police said.

A case was filed against 24 militants in the incident. They are also accused of Holey Artisan attack in Gulshan. Among the accused, 19 were killed in separate gunfights.

As a result, a charge-sheet was filed against remaining five accused. The trial of the five accused are going on in the Special Tribunal Anti-Terrorism Tribunal-2.
