'Rabindra-Nazrul Jayanti Utsab' was celebrated in a colourful manner by the initiative of National University (NU) through song, dance and recitation on Sunday evening.
The birth anniversary of the two eminent poets, the pride of Bengali, was celebrated at the auditorium of Government Music College in Agargaon of the capital.
Professor Moshiur Rahman said, "People's attraction to the good, to the beautiful, to the truth is universal. I think that remembering Nazrul, Rabindranath and Bangabandhu is the ultimate achievement of Bengali. I just think we need to go deeper into everything we do. University means entry into the deep. Bangabandhu, Rabindranath and Nazrul should be studied as much as possible. I think there is no need to look for anyone else for Bengali. These three people make us complete. Let us continue the practice of honouring Bangabandhu, Rabindranath and Nazrul.”
At the beginning of the programme, Professor Kristi Hefaz, principal of the Government Music College, gave a welcome speech.
Among others, Dean of National University Curriculum Evaluation Center Professor Dr Md Moniruzzaman, registrar Mullah Mahfuz Al-Hossain, heads of various departments of the university, teachers, officials, principals of various colleges of the capital and teachers-students of the government music college were present.
