Following the success of his first web series Hotel Relax, Kajal Arefin Ome has signed an exclusive deal with the popular streaming platform Bongo to direct two more productions.Under the banner of Bongo, the renowned director is soon going to shoot an original movie named "Oshomoy" and an original series “Underworld" season one, says a press release.
"Hotel Relax" has broken multiple records since it was released on the Bongo App on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The webseries set a record for Bongo subscription sales. In just 10 days, more than 2 lakh viewers watched "Hotel Relax" for more than 3 crore minutes. Recently, the web series achieved an unprecedented milestone by achieving five crore paid minute views.

Last Thursday 25th May, Bongo's Chief Content Officer Mushfiqur Rahman Manju and director Kajol Arefin Ome signed a contract in Bongo's office. Ome stated, ““Hotel Relax” gave me a new experience. Through Hotel Relax, I gained experience in creating content of a longer duration. While working on the project, I had the opportunity to review some of my limitations and mistakes. I will do my best to ensure that the next works are error-free. It is both an absolute pleasure and a pleasant surprise to me that Bongo and Mushfiq Bhai continually provide me with opportunities to do original work. Initially, we will focus on the "Oshomoy" movie. Soon after Eid al-Adha, filming for "Oshomoy" will begin. We have already begun working on the screenplay. Upon completion of "Oshomoy" shooting, we will begin production on Season 1 of my second original series, "Underworld". We are currently working on the storyline for this series.”
“The project will take a considerable amount of time and effort. For the time being, I am planning to do two seasons. Depending on viewer demand, the number of seasons may increase. "Oshomoy" and "Underworld" are designed to reach a wider audience than Hotel Relax. It is my goal as a director to produce high quality content over time so that our viewers become accustomed to paying for content. This will allow our content market to grow, the industry to grow, and our directors and artists to be able to work on larger scales. I am confident that by doing this we will be able to meet the standards of international work."
Bongo's Chief Content Officer Mushfiqur Rahman Manju commented on the signed contract and upcoming productions, “OTT and pay-per-view models aren't familiar to our viewers yet. As far as paid content viewing is concerned, we are at a very early stage. This is why we need content that attracts and holds viewers' attention. In terms of creating such content, Kajal Arefin Ome has proven himself to be a competent and successful director. Hence, we believe that Bongo will achieve its objectives if we continue to work with him. And we firmly believe our approach will encourage other Bangladeshi directors to produce engaging content. In the future, we have plans to create different types of content with promising directors from the country.”
