Bogura Azizul Haque College teacher stabbed dead; cops among 3 injured

Bogura--A retired teacher was stabbed to death in front of Bogura Sadar Police Station on Friday night.
The deceased Rezaul Karim Panna was a former lecturer of Political Science Department of Bogura Government Azizul Haque College and a resident of Phulbari area.
Two members of police and a passerby were also injured in the incident.
The injured are Shahadat Hossain and Golam Kibria, members of Bogura District Detective Police and Abdur Rauf, a passerby.
They are now receiving treatment at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College.
Police detained accused Mendi Khairul, 30, from the scene.
Nure Alam Siddique, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bogura Police Station, said around 11:45pm on Friday, Mendi swooped on him over an old enmity in front of the police station. When the passerby and two policemen came to save Panna, Mendi also stabbed them, leaving all of them injured.
They were rushed to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where teacher Panna succumbed to his injuries, added the OC.
In primary interrogation, Mendi confessed that he killed Panna over a land dispute.
