Bashundhara begins fair price sale of 23 products to keep market stable

Bashundhara Group, the country’s largest business conglomerate, has started fair price sales of 23 products to reduce sufferings of poor and middle class customers.

With a slogan “Bashundharar Ponno, Bhoktar Jonno  ( Bashundhara’s Products, Meant for Customers), sale of 23 items began in two spots in capital Dhaka on Thursday.

Bashundhara Food and Beverage arranged ‘fair price sales’ of commodities across the country marking the holy month of Ramadan.

Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection (DNCRP) Director General AHM Shafiquzzaman inaugurated the programme as chief guest in front of TCB Bhaban in capital’s Karwan Bazar.

DNCRP Director Manjur Mohammad Shahriar was also present on the occasion.

Bashundhara Food will continue selling oil, atta, spice and other essentials at ten trucks across eight divisions under the scheme.

In another place in Dhaka, additional commerce secretary Ruhul Amin paved the way for sales of 23 products in front of secretariat.  Joint secretaries Mohammed Daudul Islam and Mirajul Islam Ukil and assistant controller Rifat Hasan were present.

In his speech, DNCRP Director General Shafiquzzaman applauded Bashundhara Group for keeping prices of commodities stable in the line with government policy.

 “Other industrial conglomerates should come forward following Bashundhara to make a comfort zone for commoners in market,” he said.

Bashundhara Food divisional head Redhwanur Rahman said Bashundhara Group has been working for betterment of people and country alongside corporate activities.

“In its continuation, the Bashundhara Group has come forward to serve the consumers by selling products at affordable prices. We have planned to conduct this programme throughout the year,” he said.

The sales truck of Bashundhara Food will stand at Karwan Bazar and Secretariat areas in Dhaka, Oxygen mor in Chattogram, Bandar area in Sylhet, Satmatha in Bogura, Gallamari in Khulna, Chaumatha in Barishal, Town Hall in Mymensingh, Chattipatti Mosque in Cumilla, and Chwakbazar in Faridpur.

Beginning from 9:00am, sale of the products will continue till evening everyday.
