Hundreds of vehicles and commuters became stuck for hours in a 25-kilometre long tailback on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway on Wednesday morning.
The tailback was created as hundreds of devotees, including women, children and elderly people, from home and abroad gathered in Langalbandh area of Narayanganj to take part in holy bath called Langalbandh Snan, also known as the “Mohashtamir Snan Utshob,” one of the biggest Hindu festivals.
Highway and district police are working to ease the traffic jam, he said.
