BAFFA holds discussion with USAID representatives

CHATTOGRAM: A discussion between the leaders of Bangladesh Freight Forwarders Association (BAFFA), USAID and ‘Feed the Future Bangladesh Trade Activity’ was held at the BAFFA Office in the city on Tuesday.

The USAID delegation was led by Jeremy Robinson, Chris Meservy, Aniruddha Hom Roy and Marc Shiman, and Haider Jahan Khan and Md Raich Uddin Khan from Feed the Future Bangladesh Trade Activity.

BAFFA was represented by Senior Vice President Amirul Islam Chowdhury Mizan, Vice President Khairul Alam Suzan, Director Akter Kamal Chowdhury, Director Ports and Customs (Ctg) SM Md Mahbubur Rahman, Director HR (Ctg) Dolan Barua, Director Audit (Ctg) Mohammad Shah Alam and Syed Md Tarek.

The progress of supply chain diploma course curriculum was discussed at the meeting.

Speakers in the meeting informed that supply chain diploma course is going to be launched in collaboration with Chittagong Independent University and BAFFA.

It will help create a pool of qualified skilled manpower, they said.

The discussants also put up their plan of launching the course in multiple universities of Bangladesh from July 2023 and hoped that the trained manpower will play a significant role in increasing international trade to materialise the Vision 2041 of the Prime Minister.

The speakers said they will explore all the opportunities so that the certificate holders get jobs in the international arena in addition to Bangladesh.
