Bashundhara Eye Hospital and Research Institute returned eye vision to 52 poor and helpless patients by conducting surgeries for free on Monday.
The hospital, an ophthalmic concern of the country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, in association with Vision Care Foundation and AKM Abu Taher Foundation arranged the cost-free operations.
Of the patients, 33 are male and 19 are female hailing from Cumilla.
On January 20, the hospital in coordination with AKM Abu Taher Foundation and Vision Care Foundation held a daylong camp at Payalgacha Postgraduate College in the area.
They provided treatment and medicines for a number of patients and selected the critical ones for operations.
The 52 patients belong to the third group selected for operations from the camp.
Md Ahsan Habib, Manager (HR and Administration) of Bashundhara Eye Hospital, said the hospital has so far provided cost-free surgeries to more than 2,100 patients.
