Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander V Mantytskiy has said that cultural exchanges between Russia and Bangladesh greatly enrich the entire canvass of bilateral ties.
He made the remarks while speaking at a film screening held at Russian House in the capital’s Gulshan on Friday.
The Ambassador said, “I believe that strong and multifaceted cultural exchanges between Russia and Bangladesh greatly enrich the entire canvass of bilateral ties and promote better people-to-people understanding.”
“The genius of Sergei Eisenstein is reflected in such movies as ‘Strike’, ‘Battleship Potemkin’, ‘October (Ten days that shook the world)’, ‘Ivan the Terrible’ and ‘Alexander Nevsky’, which gained worldwide recognition,” he added.
He also mentioned the historical drama ‘Alexander Nevsky’ by Sergei Eisenstein. ‘Alexander Nevsky’– a monument to heroism, demonstrated by the Prince of Novgorod Alexander Nevsky and his warriors, who prevented conquering of the medieval Rus (modern Russia) by the Teutonic Order in the 13th century. The incredible music by famous Soviet composer Sergei Prokofiev accompanies these dynamic events.
So many cinema lovers, including Embassy officials and journalists enjoyed the film screening.
Alexander V. Mantytskiy attended the event as the chief guest with patron of the International Academy of Film and Media (IAFM) Masroor Mawla in the chair.
